Where is Bassenthwaite?
Bassenthwaite is a small rural parish in the most northern part of the Lake District National Park. It lies within the borough of Allerdale which is one of six districts within the County of Cumbria. The centre of the village sits in the shadow of Skiddaw about a mile to the east of the northern end of Bassenthwaite Lake in the Lake District. The parish covers an area of about 2,700 hectares measuring roughly four miles by five miles to the north and west of the summit of Skiddaw.
