Bassenthwaite Community Response
To help our community through the Covid 19 crisis the following measures have been put in place. Primarily everything is designed to limit journeys which may need to be taken in and out of our community.
Community Support Volunteers
A team of local volunteers are available should anyone need any assistance. We are first aid trained and registered with the NHS Volunteer Responders scheme. Please ask if you need anything, even just a friendly chat. If you are struggling or feeling anxious then we have a qualified mental health councillor available in the village. Coordinator Gordie Oliver Tel 017687 76866 or Mobile 07830 281986.
Village Honesty Shop
The honesty shop is currently located at 6 The Orchard. Daily essentials available such as milk, bread, milk, cheese etc. f you are self-isolating, we can deliver to your door. Call Gordie 07830 281986.
Prescriptions Delivery Service
In conjunction with and in agreement of all the Keswick Pharmacy's and Castlehead Medical Centre.
Every Friday a Bassenthwaite volunteer will collect and distribute prescriptions to villages and communities north of Keswick along the A591 corridor. By covering this area in one journey it will aid in limiting essential journeys which need to be made. Castlehead will add anyone requiring this service directly. Please contact them to ask for your prescriptions to be added to the delivery. Boots and Murray’s/Cowens prescriptions need to be ordered directly from myself, Gordie Oliver Tel 07830 281986 and I will then collect them on individual’s behalf.
Food Delivery Service
A daily food delivery service is available, arriving 5pm each day at the village. Keswick Mini Market will provide this service, they are stocked with fresh fruit and veg, all essentials and food types, newspapers, magazines, Easter eggs! and off licence. For anyone self-isolating deliveries can be arranged to your property. Further details and orders call Rebecca at Keswick Mini Market Tel 73535.
